We are still intending to go ahead with the British Showjumping Winter Classic, 17th-19th December.

World-class facilities

Hartpury's world-renowned facilities attract some of the world’s best equestrian athletes, as well as horses and riders at non-elite levels who want to practice and develop their skills or recover from injury.

Facilities for educational, therapeutic and competitive use

Our facilities are clean and modern, providing convenience and comfort to both horse and rider. Our goal is to provide an environment in which horses and riders can compete to the best of their ability.

All of our equine facilities are prioritised to enhance the experience of students, competitors and horses. They are used for lectures, practicals and seminars, as well as for hosting major international competitions and conferences. Our Equine Therapy and Rider Performance Centres are used as a research base too, with studies informing best practice in equine and human sports performance.

Our international arenas host a number of illustrious equestrian events throughout the year.

Hartpury Arena: The main indoor arena features a 70m x 40m riding surface with seating for 600 spectators, hospitality boxes that double up as classrooms and a gallery restaurant and bar.

International Outdoor Arena: The main outdoor arena features an 80m x 60m riding surface with attractive white rails and a grass bank ideal for spectators. There’s also plenty of space around the arena for trade stands and exhibitors.

CoVE Arena: An 30m x 60m outdoor arena is located directly adjacent to the International Outdoor Arena, perfect for use as a warm-up or collecting ring area.

EAAA Arena: New for 2021 is the 30m x 60m covered outdoor arena situated next to the Hartpury Arena and will be primarily used as a warm up arena.

A further three indoor arenas (60m x 25m, 60m x 21m, and 25m x 35m) can also be found at Hartpury.

All arenas are surfaced by Andrews Bowen.

Hartpury has over 200 on-site stables available for competitions and events and has additional space for temporary stabling outside of the academic term. Permanent stables are spacious and fitted with rubber matting. During term time we are unfortunately not able to offer on-site stabling but have a list of local yards that often have stables available.

Vaccination policy (excluding FEI events)

All horses must be vaccinated before entering the venue (i.e. within 12 months as a minimum). Vaccination certificated within passports will be checked on arrival. Please declare at reception with your passport ready for inspection.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to allow anyone on-site without a current vaccination certificate. It is advised that horses have a booster if they have not been vaccinated in the last 6 months. If your horse has had a booster recently then you must leave 6 days clear before arriving at the venue.

Hartpury has a number of catering outlets on site. Please note that the opening times and availability of catering outlets will depend on the time of year and vary according to the particular event.

Our Equine Therapy Centre supports horses to recover from injury or reach peak performance. Our Rider Performance Centre enables riders to improve their fitness and technique, as well as recover from injury.
