Hartpury FC were beaten 1-0 by Mousehole AFC on Tuesday night, at the 4ED Hartpury Stadium.
This defeat saw the Acorns remain goalless at the in their last Southern League Div Ons South games at the 4ED.
The Acorns started strong when Riley McGregor tested Mousehole goalkeeper, Ollie Chenoweth, from distance, but the effort was well held inside the opening minute.
Seth Locke was forced into action on six minutes, turning a dipping Tallan Mitchell effort away from danger.
The long journey started to take a toll on the Seagulls, as they were forced into two early changes, inside the opening 20 minutes.
But it Mousehole who had the next effort through Ed Harrison, but his shot was blocked behind by McGregor on 22 minutes.
Sam Kelly sent an inch perfect ball over the top to Vanylson Silva, on 32 minutes, who drove down on goal, but his low shot turned cross hit the side netting.
Mitchell went inches from giving the Seagulls the lead when his distanced effort rattled the crossbar, on 35 minutes.
The Seagulls did find the net on 39 minutes, when Paulo Sousa wrapped a left footed effort into the top corner.
It was almost 2-0 just before half time for the Seagulls, when Joshua Bissett fired an effort just over from an angle.
HALF TIME – HARTPURY FC 0-1 MOUSEHOLE AFC
The Acorns started the second period with spirit as Noah Coates bent an effort just wide on 47 minutes, following a brilliant passage of play.
That strong start continued when Silva rattled the Mousehole crossbar from 20-yards, on 49 minutes.
Straight up the other end, Mousehole saw a dangerous effort flash past the far post.
Billy Osborn headed an effort straight at Chenoweth on 52 minutes, before McGregor skipped an effort into the ‘keeper’s arms moments later.
Locke was on hand to keep the Acorns in the game, on 55 minutes, when he denied Jack Symons from close range.
Second half substitute, Nathan Jenkins, tried his luck from distance but saw his effort fly over, on 67 minutes.
McGregor was called upon again to make a vital block inside the Acorns area, on 78 minutes, before Coates couldn’t turn home a low Osborn cross from close range, a moment later.
The Acorns came agonisingly close to levelling the game in the seventh minute of additional time when Locke came up for a cleared corner, curled an effort goal bound but was denied by a stretching stop from Chenoweth.
And that saw the Acorns bring up their fourth straight defeat at home and in the league.
Saturday sees the Acorns embark on their final away day of the season, as we travel to Tavistock AFC.
