An apprenticeship is a great opportunity if you want to learn whilst you earn. You’ll gain valuable experience via classroom-based learning and on-the-job training. An apprenticeship can help you to progress your career in a new or existing role.
We offer two apprenticeships, the Level 2 General Farmworker Apprenticeship and the Level 3 Crop Technician Apprenticeship. Our lecturers are passionate about farming, you’ll be in great hands when it comes to learning about all areas of agriculture.
The Level 2 General Farmworker Apprenticeship is a GCSE-equivalent qualification and is a one year course. You can specialise in crop or livestock production, supporting daily operations within the farm enterprise and helping to maintain animal and plant health.
The Level 3 Crop Technician Apprenticeship is an A-level-equivalent qualification that will allow you to develop your skills across two years. You’ll help to prepare and cultivate sites for planting crops, harvest and store crops and learn how to maintain farm equipment and machinery.
Highly regarded by employers, apprenticeships can help you to progress your career, in an existing or completely new role. An apprenticeship can also be a valuable first step into an agricultural career, providing an ideal opportunity to ‘learn while you earn’.
Our award-winning farm business gives students access to 380 hectares across five sites, including our commercial Home Farm on campus.
You’ll earn a wage whilst you are learning and developing your skills. For many apprentices, their apprenticeship leads to full-time employment with their employer.
You’ll get plenty of work experience, working with colleagues and customers and solving problems in a real-world agriculture environment.

Working alongside your studies means you’ll be able to add all-important skills to your CV such as time management, reliability as well as practical skills such as operating machinery, and teamwork.
