Anya studied Level 3 Extended Diploma Equine Management here at Hartpury and has now taken a year out to focus on competing.
Anya's Hartpury Experience
"I loved the equine side of Hartpury, the facilities are really good, keeping your horse there is great, and I am also on the academy so that has really helped me from the riding point of view. Although it's definitely hard work, having your own horse here, it's 100% worth there and I think living in is much better from a social aspect. You meet so many more people, so I think make the most of every opportunity you get."
Developing Industry Connections
"I hope to be a professional event rider. My plan is to keep competing, focus on producing the horses and hopefully become self-employed. I was gobsmacked when I got a distinction in my first exam, it really helped me gain confidence in myself. Having access to top coaches through the Equine Academy – as well as the rider performance and therapy centres – has developed me as a rider. While the support from my lectures has enabled me to do my best academically. I feel Hartpury has prepared me really well for the future. "
