My early career was spent in Scotland where I completed my BSc(Hons) in Agriculture at the University of Edinburgh, and then a Masters in Organic Farming at the University of Aberdeen/SAC. After studying, I spent several years working as a research technician at SAC in Edinburgh before commencing a PhD entitled Modelling the effect of genetic line and feeding system on methane emissions from dairy systems. Since completing a PhD, I have enjoyed a range of teaching and research posts at the University of Melbourne in Australia, Agri-food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) in Northern Ireland, and the University of Nottingham before becoming Professor and Director of Agriculture at Hartpury in 2021.
I contribute to teaching across College and University at Hartpury and externally at UWE and University of Nottingham
