I have a breadth of applied and research experience in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology and a career in academia spanning over 15 years. I started my academic career in the Equine Science department and a passion for coaching and developing others led to a natural progression to academic management. I decided to further my research and contribution to the industry by completing a PhD at the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Worcester exploring the physiological demands of equestrian sport. After completing my PhD I initiated a start up business focussing on physical preparation of equestrian athletes and have experiences of coaching athletes across a range of competition levels. I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology in the Department of Sport where I bring my research and practitioner experience into the classroom to help educate the future generation of sport and exercise scientists.
