Measures to support accessibility
We take the following measures to ensure accessibility:
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
Hartpury University and Hartpury College’s website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that most content meets the accessibility standard.
Following the June 2025 audit, all WCAG 2.2 Level A issues have been resolved through development work and content updates.
A small number of Level AA issues remain under review and will be addressed as part of our ongoing improvement work.
Non-accessible content
Disproportionate burden
Following our June 2025 accessibility audit, all WCAG 2.2 Level A issues have been resolved through development work and content updates.
A small number of Level AA issues identified in the audit are currently being reviewed and verified as part of our continuous improvement process.
These will be addressed in upcoming development cycles to ensure full compliance across all content and components.
Content not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and Word documents
Some older PDFs and Word documents are not fully accessible. The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix documents published before 23 September 2020 if they are not essential to providing our services.
Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
When publishing new content or developing new functionality, we ensure it meets accessibility standards.
