Research Conference 2025

Our Research Conference 2025 is for all staff, students, alumni, partners and invited guests.

Celebrate and debate exciting and diverse research happening at Hartpury across our specialisms of equine, sport, veterinary nursing, animal and agriculture. Keynote speakers include Professor Keith Stokes and Associate Professor Danielle D’Lima.

This is an annual event that communicates and celebrates the exciting research and application of research at Hartpury University.

Morning keynote speaker is Professor Keith Stokes. Keith is a Professor at the University of Bath with a strong interest in injury risk and reduction in sport, and the prevention of frailty in older adults. Amongst many other achievements, he has published over 150 articles, supervised 26 PhD students to completion and has attracted over £5 million in external funding from agencies such the Rugby Football Union, The RFU Injured Players Foundation, World Rugby, United Kingdom Sports Council and BBSRC. He was editor for the International Journal of Sports Medicine from 2016-2023, and is on the Advisory Board (Biological Sciences) of the Journal of Sports Sciences. He is a Fellow of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. In 2013, Keith received a University Knowledge Exchange Award in partnership with the Rugby Football Union.

Afternoon keynote speaker is Danielle D’Lima. Danielle is an Associate Professor and Teaching Lead for the UCL Centre for Behaviour Change. She has an evolving interest in capacity building in Behaviour Change Science and Implementation Science as well as the application of these to the education setting. Danielle has a PhD from Imperial College London on the influence of feedback on professional behaviour change in healthcare. She has been involved in research projects on patient safety in the mental health setting, the use of routinely collected information for quality improvement in the NHS, and process evaluation methodology.

During parallel sessions we will share exciting new research from all areas at Hartpury.
