Hartpury Medical Centre is a part of the Sports Academy and works with the elite athletes within the Academy. Our staff are highly qualified and come from an array of different backgrounds within sport. The Sports Injury Clinic is located within the Hartpury Medical Centre and offers the same high standard of care as offered to our elite athletes. Our therapists use a comprehensive approach to deliver patient-centred care and evidence-based practice to our clients.

We are a team of highly qualified therapists who can get you back to your best. We tailor your treatment and rehabilitation to your specific needs whether you are a weekend warrior or an elite performer.
Using evidence-based techniques, treatments and methods, we aim to safely return our patients to their optimal function and performance. Our clinicians work closely within Hartpury’s multidisciplinary performance team and understand the impact an injury may have on you and your life. We aim to prevent injuries from occurring and nurture those who have been injured.
So if you’ve aggravated your ankle, your shoulder is sore or you struggle with lower back pain, we can offer you a wide range of effective treatment options and a rehabilitation programme for long-term relief from your injury all at a very competitive rate.

Below are the descriptions of what each session entails.
New Injury Assessment
The first session entails a detailed initial assessment where we will obtain your medical history and conduct a formal assessment. We will make a clinical impression, then design a bespoke treatment and rehabilitation plan that is suitable for you and your needs.
Follow-Up Appointment
After your initial appointment, you may require additional follow-up appointments. Here, we can offer you the correct support, treatment, preventative advice and adjust your management plan as you progress through the rehabilitation process.
Sports Massage
We also offer soft tissue massage, which includes a brief assessment followed by a 30-minute massage. Massage treatment is widely used within sports as a recovery method. Your therapist may also give you advice on stretching and soft tissue mobilisation you can perform at home to prevent recurring issues.

Please wear appropriate attire. If your appointment is regarding a lower limb injury please wear or bring shorts with you. Please be aware that you may be required to remove your top or other items of clothing for treatment.
Be prepared to provide your previous medical and/or surgical history. If you have any related medical reports and/or referral letters please bring them with you.
You are entitled to bring a parent/guardian or friend to your appointment. If you require a chaperone to be present, then please request one via email before your appointment. Please be aware that the therapist may also ask that a chaperone be present at the appointment.
We accept card payments at the appointment. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash payments.
We appreciate that occasionally you may need to cancel an appointment with us. We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice. Any missed appointments or appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment will be fully charged. Missed appointments and late cancellation invoices have 30-day payment terms. If unpaid, this will remain on file and payment will be required before you can rebook another appointment. You can view our full cancellation policy here.
Everyone's condition differs and the severity and duration of your symptoms will depend on how many treatments you require and how you respond once treatment has started. This will be discussed with you at your first appointment. In some cases, only one or two treatments are required as we provide a home exercise programme and strongly encourage self-management.

Hartpury Medical Centre is located within Sports Academy One. Once you arrive at the Sports Academy Reception (red number 1 on the map), please follow the signs for the sports hall and continue to the end of the corridor. The medical centre is located at the end of the corridor to the right.
