Hartpury University ranks 6th in the UK and 1st in the South West for Teaching Quality, according to The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024. Hartpury also ranks 14th in the UK for Student Experience.
This is the 30th edition of the annual guide that ranks British universities to provide potential students with information to support them to make an informed decision about higher education. The guide is put together following evaluation of everything from student satisfaction with teaching to degree completion rates and graduate employment prospects.
Hartpury’s results consolidate the quality of teaching and commitment to the overall student experience, themes that are consistently recognised by students across all subject areas. The quality of teaching at Hartpury was also highlighted earlier this week with the release of the inaugural Daily Mail University Guide, in which Hartpury ranked 4th in the UK and 1st in the South West for Teaching Excellence.
Earlier in the year, Hartpury University enjoyed another strong showing in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2023, with student respondents rating the university as the number one in England for Academic Support and number one in Gloucestershire for Teaching, Assessment and Feedback, Organisation and Management, and Student Voice, as well as number one in the South West for Learning Opportunities.
Graduate employability figures remain high, too. 97% Hartpury University graduates are in employment, further study, or other purposeful activity, placing Hartpury first in the South West and in the top 10% of UK universities for graduate employability (Graduate Outcomes 2023, reflects graduates from 2021).

It’s a busy time for the Gloucestershire institution as it looks ahead to the opening of a state-of-the-art University Learning Hub during the 2023/24 academic year. The environmentally-friendly facility is the first intended solely for use by higher education students at Hartpury and will house important student support services such as the Innovation, Careers and Enterprise (ICE) team, Academic Registry and Student Services, as well as the university library, catering, social and learning spaces.
Brand new courses have also launched this September for 2024 entry, including a BSc (Hons) Business Management degree and MBA Top-Up Business Management degree - a first for Hartpury in this subject area. In addition, a new BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences and BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Training (Clinical) complements a well-established range of animal degrees including the postgraduate MSc Animal Counselling.
