Hartpury University and Hartpury College’s Rowing Academy is celebrating a strong start to the 2024/25 academic year, following stand-out results at the recent GB Rowing Trials held in Boston, Lincolnshire.
Under-23 Trials (9 and 10 November)
Ellie Dash, a second-year BSc (Hons) Veterinary Nursing student, delivered a stellar performance in the 2000m ergometer time trial. She followed this up with an impressive 5th place finish on the water on Sunday.
Under-19 Trials (16 November)
Hartpury College students also excelled at the U19 trials, showcasing the depth of talent within the academy:
- Katie Gardner (A-levels) delivered a commanding performance, securing 1st place with a winning margin of 30 seconds.
- George Coates (A-levels) placed 16th.
- Louis Sheasby (Level 2 Extended Certificate Sport) placed 18th.
- Daniela Raguckaite (A-levels) placed 24th.
- Alex Repton (A-levels) placed 53rd.
Ben Jackson, Hartpury Rowing Academy’s head coach said: “These excellent results show the hard work that our rowers have put in over the first part of the year. There’s a long time before the GB summer crews are decided, but it’s exciting to see both college and university athletes right at the top level of performance.”
