Hartpury University has been ranked 8th in the UK (6th in England) and 1st in Gloucestershire for Academic Support, according to the results of the National Student Survey (NSS) 2024.
This impressive performance places the institution among the top 5% of 154 UK universities.
Hartpury also ranks among the top 20% of UK universities and best in Gloucestershire for Organisation and Management and Student Voice, as well as being number one in the county for Teaching and Learning Opportunities, and Assessment and Feedback.
The National Student Survey (NSS) is aimed predominantly at final-year undergraduate students, gathering opinions and feedback about their time in higher education. The survey asks students questions about a range of factors including the teaching on their course, assessment and feedback, and how well courses are organised. The results are collated from honest feedback about what it has been like to study their course at their institution. The results help to inform prospective students’ choices, as well as providing data that can be used by universities to improve the student experience.
Rosie Scott-Ward, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Hartpury University, said: “We feel extremely proud to have been named in the top 5% of UK-wide universities for Academic Support, and it’s great to see that we’re number one in Gloucestershire across a variety of categories, including Academic Support and Teaching.
“The National Student Survey is extremely important to us as the feedback comes directly from the most important voices in our community, our students. Each year, we review their feedback carefully to help us make future investment decisions and to improve the overall Hartpury experience.
“I’d like to thank each and every individual who took part in this year’s survey and thank our incredible team of staff who work tirelessly to support our students.”
It’s been an academic year brimming with accolades and achievements, with Hartpury University awarded the prestigious triple Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF 2023), as well as being ranked 6th in the UK and 1st in the South West for Teaching Quality, according to The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.
