Student rowers from Hartpury University and Hartpury College delivered a historic performance at the National Schools’ Regatta, securing multiple medals and a top 10 finish in one of the UK’s most competitive junior rowing events.
Competing against 159 clubs and schools from across the country, Hartpury finished 10th in the overall medal table following an outstanding weekend of racing.
The highlight of the regatta saw Hartpury make history by winning both the Championship Girls’ Double Sculls and Championship Open Double Sculls titles, believed to be the first time any club or school has achieved the double in the history of the National Schools’ Regatta.
Hartpury also successfully defended its Championship Girls’ Double Sculls title, becoming back-to-back national champions in the event.
The Championship Girls’ Double Sculls crew of Daniela Raguckaite and Gracie Janes, both studying A-levels at Hartpury College, claimed gold after another exceptional performance on the national stage.
In the Championship Open Double Sculls, fellow A-level students Max Fullman and Alex Judd secured a second gold medal for Hartpury in dominant fashion.
Further success came in the Championship Girls’ Single Sculls, where A-level student Mathilda Hudson-Hulls won bronze, while the Girls’ 2nd Quad Sculls crew also secured bronze medals.
Strong performances across multiple championship categories highlighted the depth of Hartpury’s rowing programme, with crews reaching A and B finals throughout the regatta.
The results continue Hartpury University and Hartpury College’s reputation as one of the country’s leading rowing programmes, combining elite sporting development with academic study pathways spanning both further and higher education.
Tom Jenkinson, Lead Coach at the Hartpury Rowing Academy said: “To finish 10th overall out of 160 schools and clubs is an outstanding achievement and reflects the hard work and commitment shown by all our student-athletes and coaches throughout the season.
“To win both Championship Double Sculls events in the same year is a remarkable accomplishment and something we believe is a first in the history of the regatta. We’re especially proud that these performances are being achieved alongside our students’ academic studies and wider development at Hartpury.”
