Hartpury University and Hartpury College, along with Gloucester Hartpury RFC, are celebrating being featured in the brand-new Monopoly: Gloucester Edition, joining some of the city's most recognisable landmarks, organisations and attractions in a special version of the world-famous board game.
The much-anticipated edition was officially unveiled on Tuesday 3 November 2026, with Mr Monopoly making a special appearance in Gloucester for the big reveal.
The launch event, held at Linc, the blood cancer charity based at Patch in The Forum, saw a giant replica of the board unveiled, revealing more than 30 Gloucester locations and organisations selected to feature in the game.
Hartpury's inclusion celebrates its connection to Gloucester and the wider Gloucestershire community, recognising its contribution to education, skills development and opportunities for young people. The inclusion of Gloucester Hartpury RFC also acknowledges the huge impact of women’s rugby in this part of the world.
The new edition brings together some of the city's best-known landmarks and much-loved organisations, with Gloucester Docks and Gloucester Cathedral taking pride of place among the board's most prestigious properties.
Other familiar locations include St Michael's Tower, The Guildhall, Orchard Street Market and The Folk of Gloucester, which takes the place of Old Kent Road on the traditional London board.
The game also celebrates local charities, including The Hollie Gazzard Trust, the James Hopkins Trust and Linc Charity, each appearing on a Community Chest square.
Earlier this year, members of the public were invited to suggest locations for the board, helping to shape a game that reflects Gloucester's history, character and community spirit.
Nikki Budding, Head of Partnerships (Sponsorship) at Hartpury said: "We're delighted to see Hartpury featured in the new Gloucester Monopoly edition alongside so many fantastic local landmarks and organisations.
"Hartpury has strong connections with Gloucester and the wider county, and we're proud of the role we play in supporting education, developing talent and creating opportunities for our students and the local community.
"It's wonderful to be part of a game that celebrates what makes Gloucester such a special place, and we're looking forward to seeing Hartpury on the board!"
The Gloucester edition has been produced by Winning Moves UK under licence from Hasbro, bringing a local twist to one of the world's most recognisable board games.
Ben Ladd Gibbon, Partnerships Manager at Winning Moves UK, said: "Thank you to everyone who took part in our public consultation process. We have been wonderfully spoilt for choice putting this game together."
Monopoly: Gloucester Edition is available now from Waterstones, TGJones, Winning Moves UK and other online retailers.
