Entry requirements
Indian Certificate or Secondary Education or Class X – grade of 69% or higher

Higher Secondary Certificate/ Senior Secondary School Certificate/ Class XII, with grade average of 50%
Higher Secondary Certificate/ Senior Secondary School Certificate/ Class XII, with grade average of 65%, including relevant subjects
Three and four-year Bachelors degrees from a recognised university in India, with:
- a GPA of at least 2.1 on the 4-pt GPA scale, OR
- GPA of at least 7.5 on the 10-pt GPA scale, OR
- 60% where percentage grades are used.

English Language requirements
To study at Hartpury, you must demonstrate that your English language ability meets the requirements for university-level study. We accept a number of Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) for entry onto our degree courses, with IELTS being the most common.
We may also accept the following local qualification (this can vary by course):
- Higher Secondary School Certificate/Indian School Certificate – Standard XII from CBSE/CISCE/WBCHSEB/Maharashtra State Board/Andhra State Board/Telangana State Board/Tamil State Board/Kerela State Board/Karnataka State Board: Minimum Grade in English Language -70%
Please note:
- This qualification must have been completed within the past 5 years prior to the start of an undergraduate course. However, if you have completed a bachelor’s degree taught and assessed in English within the past 3 years, we may accept Standard XII English Language regardless of when it was completed.
- Students from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, or Uttarakhand are required to provide an IELTS (or equivalent SELT).
Financial support
Regional Scholarships
We are offering £2,000 scholarships to Indian undergraduate and postgraduate applicants joining Hartpury University in September 2026.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, the scholarship will be awarded automatically once your application has been approved.
The award will be applied as a tuition fee discount against your first year of study. To retain the scholarship in subsequent years, you will be required to maintain a minimum overall grade average of 60% (upper second-class).
Hartpury graduate and former international rugby player Tudu Sailen made global headlines after he gained a scholarship to study a National Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence in Rugby) at Hartpury in 2008.
Dubbed the ‘Scrumdog Millionaire’ after he gained a well-publicised scholarship at Hartpury, Tudu continued at Hartpury to complete a foundation degree in sports coaching, and launched his personal fitness coaching company, Tudu Fitness, on his return to Kolkata.
In 2018, Tudu received Sports Illustrated India’s Community Development in Sport award for the contribution he makes to society through the Adibasi Rugby Foundation.
