Success Stories

BSc (Hons) Agriculture

Ralph Dalu

Ralph studied BSc (Hons) Agriculture at Hartpury University and is now a Business Entrepreneur in his home country - Zimbabwe.

Ralph's Hartpury Experience

"I’ve been able to develop my business alongside my studies, thanks to the fantastic support I’ve received from the Enterprise Hub and Innovation, Careers and Enterprise team. I even reached the Enterprise Awards finals, which has given me the funds to develop further. The business lectures on my course have inspired me to take a new enterprise back to my home farm in Zimbabwe."

Developing Industry Connections

"I grew up on a beef and arable farm, but chose to do my first work placement on a sheep farm in Scotland. The thrill of something so new was brilliant.

I learnt so much and now plan to take it all home and grow my family farm with a sheep farming enterprise. It will give my parents the confidence to venture into new areas of farming. By completing work experience on a variety of different farms, I’ll have a broad range of hands-on skills which will be invaluable for my future career."

Study Agriculture

At Hartpury, an agriculture degree is about so much more than farming. It's about working with people to create behaviour change, applying agri-tech data to increase yield and welfare, and translating scientific research and business theory into real solutions that address industry challenges.
