Ali Sewell

Ali graduated in BA (Hons) Equine Business Management and is now the Senior Regional Marketing Executive at The Jockey Club, South West.

"The variation of specialist lecturers was invaluable at Hartpury. We didn't have just one or two lecturers that taught the course, we had people with experience and knowledge in specific areas, like marketing or sports business. I learnt a lot from them.

My role at the Jockey Club is challenging but I love it. No two days are the same and there’s always interesting and exciting problems to solve. I'm always out and about at different events or planning for the next set of races.

My degree helped massively with getting to understand how the world of business works. It taught me things like interviewing techniques and how to be a confident business person. Hartpury really help with preparing you for life after university and I was also encouraged to always aim for what I wanted.

Having Hartpury on your CV is a big thing in the equestrian world. My degree was definitely a huge plus for me getting my foot in the door at the Jockey Club."
