Beata studied BSc (Hons) Equestrian Sports Science at Hartpury University and then stayed on to complete the MSc Applied Performance Analysis postgraduate course.
“Hartpury has not only equipped me with knowledge, but also instilled life skills that will support me in making significant career moves. I moved from Poland to Hartpury for my undergraduate degree and I have now begun my master’s degree. Hartpury was one of the only places that did an undergraduate course I was interested in, it was so specialised and focused on so many different aspects that I wouldn’t have even considered before Hartpury.
The emphasis on staying up to date with the latest information and technologies played a crucial role in my love for Hartpury, especially in fields that are rapidly evolving. The staff are very generous, always sharing as much of their knowledge as they can, and always on hand to help when you need it. The decision to stay at Hartpury for a masters was not only down to the academic satisfaction, but also the support and positive mindset I developed during my undergraduate years. I have only completed a couple months of my master’s degree but I’m really enjoying it. I decided to complete my postgraduate qualification full-time over the course of two years. It’s a lot of work but I manage my time well and am provided with all the help I need.
During my undergraduate degree I gained experience volunteering at the 2022 Equestrian World Championships in Herning, Denmark; I gained lots of insight during this placement. In addition to this, I did a summer internship at the Dynamic Performance Hub where I learnt the practical application of the holistic development of riders and their performance. I also presented my dissertation at Alltech-Hartpury Student Conference 2023, which was an amazing experience. I felt very proud to be there.
Alongside my studies, I work part-time as a research assistant at the Hartpury Equine department. This includes supporting with dissections, labs and practical sessions. It’s really interesting and I’m looking forward to continuing that throughout the year. In the future, I hope to move to America for a year and work within the tech industry."
