The advanced equine industry in the UK made his move from South Africa a no-brainer for Patrick. He chose the BSc Racehorse Performance and Rehabilitation degree at Hartpury University due to its strong reputation in the equine industry and he now owns his own business; Bio-Cal Thoroughbreds.

Hands-on experiences and placements brought the concepts to life, while lecturers shared their real-world insights and went above and beyond to help us succeed.
One of my favourite placements whilst at Hartpury was at the Ivy Lodge Therapy Centre, where I was able to work with a wide range of equine patients and learn about different types of therapy techniques. Another placement that was particularly meaningful for me was at Tweenhills Stud, where I was able to get hands-on experience in a world class Thoroughbred breeding operation.
