Zoe began her Hartpury experience by studying a Level 3 sport diploma, moving up to study the BSc Sport and Exercise Sciences degree. Alongside her studies, Zoe was developing her rugby career through our women's rugby academy. Not only is Zoe now an international rugby player, she was crowned England women's player of the year (2020) and World Rugby player of the year (2021).
Zoe's Hartpury Experience
"I never thought of myself as a role model before, but this year I have been spending some time coaching the girls on the women’s rugby programme at Hartpury. In fact, there are a couple of girls from my home town of Scarborough who have followed in my footsteps and have come down to Hartpury to follow what I did and to pursue their rugby dreams.
For me, that’s really heart-warming, knowing that you inspired someone. I just tell them to work as hard as they can. You can’t really beat hard work and as long as they are working hard and enjoying it, hopefully they are going to get there one day."
